Club Penguin Rewritten is a fan-made Club Penguin Private Server. It resembles what most users consider Club Penguin's "glory days" (before the third redesign), and therefore is considered the closest replica of the original Club Penguin. Unlike many CPPSes, Club Penguin Rewritten does not tolerate bad language, and has no "text codes" to add items to the user's account. The game also has active administration, and parties every month. Most pookies moved here when Club Penguin shut down, instead of the then-new and official Club Penguin Island.
Club Penguin Rewritten shut down on March 4th, 2018 for security and management reasons, although about a month later, the Club Penguin Rewritten team revealed the game would return in the next few weeks due to everyone’s support. In late April, the game came back online. then on New Year's Day, it closed to switch over to HTML5 and reopened in beta on 23rd of Jan.
On April 13, 2022, Disney has unfortunately shut down this private server causing most pookies to move to New Club Penguin and Club Penguin Vanilla.

- The name of the website is a reference to another remake of a closed Disney MMO, ToonTown Rewritten.
- By complete coincidence, both the original Club Penguin and Club Penguin Rewritten shut down during the month of March. Club Penguin shut down on March 29, 2017.
- Although there have been some moderation issues, it's the best CPPS out there for roleplaying, but after it transferred over to HTML, roleplaying on CPR kinda died out.
